Tavern 64 is a new farm to table restaurant that has opened in Reston Town Center. Everything prepared is made using locally sourced, organic ingredients. I think this restaurant has a lot of potential. There's a nice variety of beverages on the menu including locally made ciders that are gluten-free. All of their gluten-free items are labeled on their menu which ranges from small plates to seafood and meat entrees. They also itemize exactly where each item is sourced from. I enjoyed the Rockfish and grits entree, finding it to be quite satisfying. I unfortunately cannot say that everyone at my table was completely satisfied with their meal, but our server was extremely friendly and attentive. Hearing that one of my friends was upset, he immediately offered to rectify the situation. What more can you ask for than a reaction like that? What I do think Tavern 64 really has going for it though is that it is one of only a few privately owned restaurants in the Reston Town Center. In an area that is overrun with a majority of chain restaurants, it is refreshing to find a restaurant that is forging out on its own. So check out Tavern 64 for a tasty meal that is locally sourced and support a local business in the process. You won't be disappointed.
