One of the things I have missed the most since going gluten free is cupcakes. I love cupcakes. I like to pop the frosting tops off and save them for last. I eat the plain cake by itself and then take my time eating the sweet icing finish, savoring each delicious bite. Yum.
Since going gluten free though, I thought my cupcake eating days were numbered. Then I found Red Velvet Cupcakery. There are three different shops. One in DC, one in Arlington and one in Reston. I have now been to both the Reston and Arlington stores. They have both Black Velvet and White velvet gluten free cupcakes. And unlike most of the dried out and crumbly gluten free baked goods I've tried, these cupcakes are still as moist and decadent as the real thing. So head on down and try one for yourself.
